The gallery presents the story of four Australian anti-submarine and minesweeping vessels Bathurst Class built in Whyalla shipyards in 1941 Rare objects of Japanese provenance illustrate the involvement of the Japanese Navy and Air Force in World War Two in the Pacific. The major museum vessel, HMAS Whyalla is the first ship constructed at the BHP Whyalla shipyards.
